Planning & Advocacy

PLANNING
|
| To
determine the health and social services needs of the region, CPAC
relies on input from its Coalitions, which are made up of service
providers, civic leaders, and community members of specific target
populations, allowing them to effectively address specific issues
and the unique needs of the following groups: Aging, Children/Youth/Family,
and People With Disabilities. |
|
.
|
CPAC has a strong leadership
role in providing advocacy for Camden County Human Services. This
advocacy involves local, state and federal government, funding sources
and institutional bodies.
Because CPAC stays attuned to the needs of Camden County, it can
effectively present the community's interest to state and local
officials, agencies and work to create community solutions.
Many times CPAC and the HSAC
are called upon to fulfill an advocacy role. For an agency, it might
be negotiating for a different level of service or for funds not
received. For a group of agencies, it might be to advocate for a
change in departmental policy. For a target population, we might
need to be in an adversarial position regarding the state budget.
